The problem

A website that staff could depend on and maintain.

Burnaby Hospice Society needed to move off Webflow onto WordPress so the organization had a platform staff could operate day to day, with public-facing communication and practical editing tools under one roof.

That meant a platform migration alongside a visual redesign, then ongoing technical work around hosting, maintenance, forms, and content sections so staff could keep updating the site without treating every change as a development project.

The scope

Webflow to WordPress migration

Migration from Webflow to WordPress as part of the site refresh. Eryn Tech handled the platform move so the organization landed on WordPress with hosting and a maintainable structure in place.

Redesign coordination and follow-through

Eryn Tech coordinated the redesign with the design partners — we did not execute the visual redesign or build the initial theme ourselves. After their theme and design work landed, we went back in to tweak and correct implementation details so the live WordPress site matched what the organization needed.

Hosting, forms, and ongoing maintenance

Hosting setup, form functionality through the full submission workflow, smaller feature work, and continued technical maintenance after launch.

Not in scope: Eryn Tech did not design or execute the visual redesign, and did not build the initial WordPress theme. That work was delivered by the redesign partners; Eryn Tech coordinated it and refined the WordPress implementation afterward.

Who did what

Eryn Tech — Engineering

  • Migrated the site from Webflow to WordPress.
  • Coordinated the redesign with the design partners.
  • Tweaked and corrected the WordPress theme and implementation after redesign delivery.
  • Set up WordPress hosting.
  • Fixed and validated website form functionality.
  • Provided ongoing website maintenance and smaller technical improvements.

Others on the project

  • BHS staff: content, communications, requirements, and ongoing updates.
  • Redesign partners: visual redesign, design direction, and the initial WordPress theme.

The approach

Support the organization, not just the website launch.

The engagement combined a platform migration with redesign coordination: move the organization onto WordPress, work with the design partners through the refresh, then tighten the implementation so what shipped was accurate and usable for staff.

After launch, the work continued as practical website operations through maintenance, form fixes, and smaller improvements. BHS staff remained responsible for content and communications while Eryn Tech kept the technical side dependable.
