The problem

A storefront and the operations behind it needed to work together.

Omawild’s Shopify project involved more than the storefront’s appearance. The theme, app integrations, subscription checkout, and everyday content management all needed engineering attention as part of the same implementation.

The challenge was to support the customer-facing experience while giving the Omawild team practical ways to manage content and ongoing changes. That meant treating the storefront and its operational requirements as connected parts of the project rather than separate tasks.

The scope

Shopify theme engineering

Theme development and customization to support Omawild’s storefront requirements, including the structure and implementation of reusable content sections. The work focused on making the theme suitable for the store’s needs while supporting ongoing content changes.

Subscription checkout and app integrations

Integration work connecting Shopify’s storefront experience with the apps and subscription functionality required by Omawild. The scope included end-to-end subscription checkout behavior, rather than treating the integration as complete simply because an app had been installed.

Content operations and guardrails

Modular content sections gave the Omawild team control over routine storefront content changes. The work also included implementation patterns and review rules intended to make self-service and AI-assisted changes safer. These were operational safeguards, not a separate AI software product.

Not in scope: No claims of revenue growth, conversion improvements, or quantified performance results are attributed to this engagement.

The approach

Build for the people maintaining the store.

The engineering work considered how storefront components, integrated apps, and operational workflows affected one another. Subscription checkout needed to function as part of the customer journey, while the theme needed to accommodate the content and presentation requirements of the business.

Rather than requiring engineering changes for every routine content update, modular sections provided a more practical editing model. Implementation patterns and review rules also established boundaries for self-service and AI-assisted changes, helping distinguish routine content work from changes that require engineering review.
